Everything is Working in My Favor
What if, everything was working in your favor? This is a thought I had as recently as yesterday. What if, instead of me needing to battle through the day, everything was working in my favor?
Yes, the perspective shift is bound to invite in more positivity into my daily routine. But it also did something more. It invited in more opportunity. Every interaction I had and every choice I made suddenly became intentional as opposed to responsive. When everything is working in my favor, suddenly even the most mundane things feel like they resonate on a deeper level.
For instance, I was leaving my office to go get a cup of coffee and passed another office where I heard the telltale sound of a dog collar. As I walked by I glanced in and saw the brief figure of a man holding a dog leash and though I kept walking, I wanted to know who this person was. I’ve walked by this office nearly one hundred times in the last few months and never once have I noticed someone in there. So it’s remarkable to me that I noticed this today at all.
When I went out for my coffee I mused if I could time my elevator ride with the man and the dog. I was really testing how much the universe was aligning with my intentions of curiosity. But alas, instead of waiting, I followed my normal timing and rode the elevator without them. When I got my coffee and walked back to the office, I actually passed them both on the street and chuckled to myself. Of course, divine timing at play.
And as I rode the elevator back up to my floor, all I thought was: “Everything is working in my favor.” I had a curiosity and now it had been satiated as effortlessly as me breathing. But the universe took it one step further. As I rounded the corner to go down my hallway (one of many in this type of office) I walked right into him. The man and his dog happened to come up a different entrance in the building and we finally interacted. Granted, all I said was “Hi buddy” to the dog, not the man and went on my way. But I had to laugh because the moment I relinquished control, the universe worked in my favor.
Yes the example I provided may seem mundane, but it is the prime example of how quickly the universe shows up for us if we let it. So what if, instead of trying to control everything and everyone, we simply leaned into the notion that yes, in fact, everything is working in our favor? What if instead of trying to fight our way through the day and battle for our own notions, we instead simply believe that yes, it is actually that easy. It is actually that simple and non-forced to go through life and work and gain what you seek? What if instead of trying to plot and plan and detract from the higher order of things, we instead fuel the notion that everything in this life is intentional and it is all working in favor of your highest self?
